You can’t take away the smile from Pasupathi’s face these days. The reason- he is now a celebrity in Kerala with his second Malayalam film ‘Vairam’ running to packed houses all over the God’s own country.

Comparing Tamil and Malayalam films, the actor, who stepped into Mollywood with Mammootty starrer ‘Big B’, says, “Scripts are better in Malayalam. But the remuneration is better in Tamil. As a result, I would like to shuttle between both the film industries.”

Saying that his only objective is to be a good actor, Pasupathi adds: I am least interested in star status or star value. I am ready to play even a cameo if the character gives me enough scope to perform.”

Story is the hero, the actor says and adds, “If the script is so good, nothing can stop a movie from reaching the audience. A good story can alone bring in other advantages to the film.”

Directed by M A Nishad, ‘Vairam’ is about a father's (Pasupathi) fight for justice after his daughter Vairamani (Dhanya) is molested and killed. Pasupathi plays a Tamilian working in Kerala as a bank officer. Meera Vasudevan plays his wife. The film also stars Suresh Gopi, Mukesh, Kalabhavan Mani, Jayasurya and Samvrutha Sunil.
